Communications Manager

Description

The Communications Manager will perform a variety of tasks, including the creation of press releases and the generation of earned media, bylined articles, field and influencer communication, white papers, RFP development, and assisting with the creation and review of digital and traditional content. They may aid in the preparation of presentations and/or speeches geared toward employees or external groups.  This position provides a unique opportunity to help build a first-to-market national brand with over 380+ units across 30 states, in partnership with a highly credentialed marketing team.  This position works out of the corporate office located in North Scottsdale.

Experience Required

  • 5 years’ experience developing and measuring the impact of integrated public relations/earned media plans for high growth multi-location retail company(s)
  • Experience working with a franchise or partially franchise-based organization preferred
  • Strong command of language in all formats
  • Experience as a company spokesperson preferred.  Equipped to media train company and franchise personnel as necessary, and to advise on crisis communications
  • Understanding of cross-channel content marketing
  • Experience leading through influence:  Building relationships and securing support from outside stakeholders (whether  franchisees/store operations or perhaps with clients in an agency environment)
  • Understands retail, including how to simultaneously build a brand and drive short term traffic and new customer counts
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience with healthcare communications a plus
  • A superb communicator.  An articulate spokesperson who represents the company well and displays grace under pressure.  Speaks and writes simply, clearly and persuasively
  • Highly creative and resourceful.  Generates fresh angles/news hooks to position the company as a thought leader and fuel a steady stream of positive press
  • An excellent networker. Brings a strong and ever-growing set of national and regional media relationships.  Leverages them to get coverage not otherwise possible
  • Analytic.  Focuses efforts on strategies and tactics that most effectively generate brand awareness and new patients
  • Strong project management skills.

Scope of Responsibilities

  • Drives customer acquisition through proactive pitching, press releases and media events
  • Ensures new clinics get off to a strong start via outstanding pre-, during- and post-opening earned media support
  • In partnership with VP of Marketing, develops annual, new clinic opening, and strategic market level plans. Contributes to annual marketing plan and calendar
  • Partners with Director of Digital and Content Marketing to leverage social media and online content to drive awareness, keep current customers engaged and inspire positive word-of-mouth and referrals
  • Collaborates with internal colleagues on communication needs and executes on-going messaging to field operators, franchisees and clinic teams.  Keeps field informed of new systems, tools, policies and required actions.  Collects and shares insights and best practices
  • Creation and review of copy for internal and external including but not limited to; basic marketing collateral and support tools

Organization

  • Reports to VP of Marketing
  • Works in close collaboration with all members of the Clinic Support Center, including web and content management, operations, training, HR, and IT
  • Builds healthy relationships with franchisees, regional developers, and field teams
